Every exterior or garden project, one in‑house team
The outside of a house makes the first impression. We re-render tired elevations, build glazed garden rooms and relay whole gardens with patios, paths, lawns and raised planters across Essex and London, either on their own or to finish off an extension or refurbishment.
The same in-house team that builds the house finishes the outside, so the render, the brickwork and the landscaping are all done to one programme and one standard.
Rendering
Smooth render finishes that transform a tired or patched exterior, with the walls prepared properly first so the finish lasts.
Glazed garden rooms
Glazed garden rooms built across the back of the house, giving a bright space to sit in that opens straight onto the garden.
Patios and paths
Porcelain and stone patios and curved or straight paths laid on a sound base with the falls set so water runs away from the house.
Lawns and planting
New lawns laid and gardens planted with hedging and topiary to finish the scheme.
Raised planters and walls
Brick-built raised planters and garden walls by our own brickworkers, matched to the house and the patio.
Boundary walls
New brick boundary walls to the front of the property, built by the same team that works on the house.

Thank you for an excellent job, quick and efficient throughout the whole process. Keep up the high standard.
I have used VAA Construction on many occasions in the past on various types of project and have found them to be very conscientious and thorough in their work with excellent attention to detail. I would happily recommend them as a trustworthy and sensibly priced construction company.
Exterior & Landscaping, answered
Can you re-render a house that is already rendered?
Usually. Loose or cracked render is taken off, the wall is repaired and prepared, and the new render is applied. We look at the existing render at the site visit and tell you how much needs to come off.
Do you do landscaping on its own, without building work?
Yes. Patios, paths, lawns and planters can be taken on as a project in their own right, as well as finishing off an extension or refurbishment.
Does a garden room need planning permission?
Many garden rooms and single storey additions can be built without a full planning application, but it depends on the size, height and position on the plot. We will explain what applies to your house before any work is priced.
What is the best time of year for landscaping?
Hard landscaping such as patios, paths and walls can be done most of the year. New lawns and planting take best in spring and autumn, and we plan the programme around that where we can.
Will the patio drain properly?
Yes. Patios and paths are laid on a proper sub-base with falls set away from the house so water runs off rather than sitting against the walls.
