Every full house refurbishment, one in‑house team
Some houses need more than a new kitchen. We take on whole house refurbishments across Essex and London, where the property is stripped back, the structure is put right and every service is renewed before it is finished to a high standard. On the biggest jobs we put a full scaffold and temporary roof over the house so the work carries on whatever the weather.
Every trade on a refurbishment is our own: scaffolders, brickworkers, joiners, roofers, plasterers, electricians and plumbers. That keeps the programme moving, because nobody is waiting on another firm, and it means one team is responsible for the finished house.
Scaffold and temporary roof
Our own scaffolders put up the access and, where the job needs it, a full temporary roof so the house can be opened up and rebuilt out of the weather.
Strip-out to the shell
Old plaster, floors, ceilings and services taken out back to the brickwork, so what is behind the walls is dealt with before anything new goes in.
Structural work
New floor structures, blockwork, steels and openings to the engineer's design, and roofs rebuilt where the old one has had its day.
Rewires, plumbing and heating
Complete rewires, new plumbing and heating systems and underfloor heating, carried out by fully accredited in-house trades (Gas Safe, NICEIC and so on).
Plastering, joinery and finishing
Walls and ceilings plastered, doors, skirting and staircases fitted, and decoration completed so the house is ready to move back into.
Kitchens and bathrooms to finish
The refurbishment can include the kitchen fit-out and bathrooms, so the whole house is handed over complete rather than as a shell.

How long does a full house refurbishment take?
It depends on how far back the house needs to go. A full strip-out and refurbishment of a family house is usually several months on site, and larger structural jobs take longer. You get a programme with the stages in order before work starts.
Can you work on a house while we live in it?
On a whole house refurbishment it is usually better, faster and safer for the house to be empty. On smaller refurbishments we can often phase the work room by room. We will talk it through at the site visit.
Why put a temporary roof over the house?
When a roof is being replaced or the house is opened right up, a scaffold roof keeps the structure and the new work dry. It lets the team keep working through bad weather instead of losing days waiting for it to clear.
How do you price a refurbishment?
We visit, walk the house with you and put together a clear quote, so you know what happens when and what it costs before we start. If something unexpected turns up once the walls are open, it is explained and agreed with you first.
Do you handle the electrics and plumbing yourselves?
Yes. Our in-house electricians and plumbers renew the services as part of the same programme, and the trades are fully accredited (Gas Safe, NICEIC and so on).
